Winter Living, By Sarah Bahn

Winter is here and Bahn Campers are equipped for it!
Here is a list of some of the great features we have:
Radiant Floor Heating: And let me just first say, I’m always cold. I often ask Ryan, “Do you think I’m overdressed?” And his reply never changes, “You are always overdressed.” And yet I’m always cold! But in our snug camper, with the heat running through the floor, benches, and some of the wall panels, I am super toasty even after a freezing cold surf session.
On Demand Hot Water: Over Thanksgiving Ryan and I took our boys to Short Sands beach—an incredible cove on the Oregon coast. It was literally 33 degrees, winds of 30 mph, and pouring rain, but the boys insisted on putting on their wetsuits and heading down to the water. Within 1 hour of playing in the ocean, both boys were freezing and back at the camper. Now here’s where it gets good—both boys were crying they were so cold, despite being pissed we made them get out of the ocean. “My hands hurt Mama—my hands!” Within a few seconds I had the outside shower nozzle hooked up and as soon as I turned it on, warm water sprayed out of the hose and onto the boys’ hands. Instant relief! While I striped Wyatt out of his wetsuit with the warm shower drizzling over him, he said, “It’s like a warm hug.” Mind you it was still pouring rain and freezing cold, but that on-demand hot water heater with the outside shower combo is a parent’s dream for dealing with cold, wet, sandy boys!
Windows: We import dual pane windows from Europe for our camper shells. We do this because we want to keep our camper as insulated as possible. A dual pane window uses an air gap to provide a little extra insulation to help keep the camper interior toasty warm when the temps drop outside.
Camper Wall insulation: We use a hydrophobic insulation material that does not absorb or hold moisture. This characteristic prevents mildew and mold from growing between the camper shell and the interior walls. Here at Bahn Camper Works we are constantly innovating and designing to ensure the least amount of moisture collects in our campers.
Drying Closet: In one of our new truck campers we are currently building a drying closet! It has a separate heat and vent system. The heat converts the water to vapor making the box very humid, the ventilation removes the humid air from the closet. This allows skiers or surfers to place their wet gear in the closet and have it dry between sessions without letting the wet gear add additional moisture to the main part of the camper.
Here at Bahn Camper Works we are constantly thinking of ways to make sure our campers are the best 4 season camper on the market. As always everything is custom and we design to your adventure needs!
Happy Camper Holidays,
Sarah
